How Long Have you Been Involved with 2Max FM?

Just over a Year

Since April 2011

How Did You First Become Involved?

Folkus emerged in early 2011 from the popular 'Danny Watson's Folk Music Show' established in 2007. When Danny moved out of town, he asked if I wanted to continue a programme of Folk music in his Monday night slot.

Favourite Music Genre or Artist?

The show mixes up contempory folk songs that are mostly alternative with traditional folk songs, and also features some of the folk classics. There is often some 'twang' in the songs I choose. Anything a little bit different that is firmly set in the roots of folk sparks my interest, & most of the tracks I play are songs. Most of my show features recent material. I submit my playlists to the International and Australian Folk DJ Discussion lists, so my tracks contribute to Monthly Folk Chart Ratings throughout the world.

Ben (left) grew up in Sydney, where he spent the last 5 years as a producer at Radio 2UE on the drive-time show and then the breakfast show. He moved to Narrabri in November 2012 to take over as Editor of The Courier newspaper. His weekends are spent cheering on the St George Illawarra Dragons.
